Losing It

Was… 16st. Now… 8st 10lb
Even in primary school, I always felt I was the ‘fat kid’, bigger than the others.
Later, I did try to lose weight. I’d skip meals, only eating in the evening. But it didn’t work.
While I was at college, I met my partner David and in a couple of years, I’d put on 4st, going from a size-16 to a size-22.
I was disgusted with myself – but determined to do something!
So, in January 2011, I joined my local Slimming World class.
It was slow at first but I soon settled into it, losing 1-2lb every week.
I enjoyed the diet, the cooking and trying new recipes.
Each day, I’d take a bag of fruit and low ‘syns’ snacks to work, and I joined a gym, too – did Zumba, aerobics and aquarobics! After years of avoiding PE, I now love it!
I reached my goal weight in January 2013.
In two years, I’ve lost nearly half of me and it feels fantastic!
